Background of the Study
Conflict is an inherent aspect of any organizational setting, particularly in industries with high pressure and competing interests, such as the banking sector. In the banking industry, conflicts can arise due to differences in opinions, work styles, compensation, management practices, or interpersonal issues. Fidelity Bank, one of Nigeria's leading financial institutions, operates in several regions, including Jigawa State, where employees are integral to the organization’s success. The ability of a bank to effectively manage and resolve conflicts between employees or between management and staff is essential to maintaining productivity, job satisfaction, and a positive work environment.

The banking industry in Nigeria, especially in states like Jigawa, faces unique challenges due to diverse employee backgrounds, organizational culture, and the nature of the work involved. Effective conflict resolution strategies are vital in minimizing disruptions and ensuring smooth operations. This study will assess the conflict resolution strategies employed by Fidelity Bank in Jigawa State and how they affect employee relations, productivity, and overall organizational effectiveness.

While conflict resolution is a critical aspect of organizational behavior, there has been limited research on its application in the banking sector, especially in regions like Jigawa. This study seeks to fill this gap by evaluating the methods used by Fidelity Bank and their effectiveness in resolving conflicts and maintaining a harmonious work environment.
